Singapore’s system of education

One of the best and most efficient educational systems in the world is the Singaporean system. The following are its components:

➤ Children attend preschool from ages 3-6 in kindergartens.

➤ Primary education: The national Primary School Leaving Examination must be taken after six years of primary school (PSLE).       The child’s placement in a regular secondary school or a specialised school will depend on the PSLE results.

➤  Secondary instruction It’s either an express school that completes the “”O”” Level in four years as opposed to the usual five, or

another institution (such a privately sponsored one), that provides a comparable education. To compete in the yearly                  Singaporean GCE ‘O’ Level exam, which determines which pre-universities or post-secondary schools applicants may apply to, pupils must have completed 4-5 years of secondary education.

➤  Pre-university and post-secondary studies: Post-secondary education typically takes about four years.
