After completing their study, international students who wish to work in Australia must submit an application to DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship).
Students who study full-time in Australia are permitted to work up to 20 hours a week in a part-time job, just like in the US and the UK. If a student pursues a master’s degree, however, their wives are permitted to work indefinitely. Other students’ spouses are limited to 20 hours of work per week.
The possibility of obtaining a Work Permit in addition to the student visa itself, at a total cost of AUS $540, is another benefit for the students (may be changed from time to time)
Before seeking for a job in Australia, even a part-time job, all overseas students are required to apply for and get a Tax File Number (TFN). After the student arrives in Australia, getting a TFN is simple because it can be done online.
After receiving a student visa, the government grants temporary access for the purpose of studying with the understanding that the individual will depart once the course is through and the visa is about to expire. However, there is still a need for foreign labour in Australia, and graduates from Australian universities are eligible for a unique category of work visas. International students can also apply for a number of other visa types, and Australia offers a fairly simple points-based system for obtaining permanent residency. If desired

Job Access is a unique service offered by several Australian universities and colleges that assists students in finding rewarding employment. Additionally, newspapers, websites, gatherings, and job fairs are other places where students can obtain employment.
In many institutions, there will be employment officers to assist students in finding part-time jobs, the majority of which are unprofessional jobs like serving tables, cleaning, or sales. On nearby farms, students may find part-time job harvesting and packaging fruits and vegetables, but such labour is not always assured.
In Australia, finding employment for foreign students may be both simple and challenging. If they are good, many students can get employment after some time.
In order to develop a solid career foundation and assist them after finishing their academic studies, students can also find employment in their field of study. Even the nation supports students who have prior professional experience. The likelihood of merit-based students obtaining permanent residency in Australia is very high.
The study curricula are being changed at many universities and colleges in order to better prepare students for the labour market. Students will be selected for this process during their last semester as trainees, and upon the completion of their academic requirements, they will be appointed permanently.
