Permit for Student Work

An international student can work in Canada, and there are positions available both on and off campus. However, students will need a Student Labor Permit to work off campus. The Student Work Permit will allow students to work off-campus 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during the summer.

Student must be enrolled in a participating Institution in order to be eligible for the Student Work Permit. Impel will assist you in securing a spot at a Participating Institution. After six months of continuing to be enrolled full-time, students may apply for a work permit. Application processing takes 35 to 40 days, and the price is $150 Canadian.
