Point-Based System

Introduction

Beginning in early 2008, the UK implemented a new points-based system to better manage immigration, combat misuse, and recognise the most skilled individuals.

Businesses and academic institutions in the UK will now have to sponsor immigrants and make sure that individuals they support follow the conditions of their visa.

The UK Border Agency won’t BORING about the evaluation and acceptance of academic standards for any individual course by any given institution because it is entirely up to the university. For instance, a student who graduated in 2005 but hasn’t pursued higher education for four years would now desire to do so. The UK Border Agency will no longer look into the causes of the gap, etc.

The course, tuition amount, and advance payment made toward the tuition fee must all be mentioned in the visa letter from the university, which must also describe the selection process for the student.

If the visa officer is willing to issue the visa, students who are enrolled in courses linked to hospitality and healthcare must have their medicals completed. It could take up to a month to finish the medical process.

Under the current migration system, each student seeking a student visa must collect 40 points, which can be obtained from
